Kicking and Screaming

 Lay Your World on Me

For my BFF, from the new album:

I Know You Think You're All Alone
I Haven't Been There When You've Needed Me
I Didn't Deserve The Love You Gave
But Now I'm Telling You I'm Here If You Need A Friend

Give Me Your Pain
Give Me Your Anger
Let Me Be Your Rock
I Can Be The Pillar Of Strength That You Need
I'll Help You Keep It All Together
It's Better Late Than Never
Lay Your World On Me
I Can Take The Weight

Don't Let It Twist You Up Inside
Time Never Fails To Make The Heartache Stop
You've Got To Let Those Feelings Go
I'll Give You Everything I Can If You Say The Word

Give Me Your Pain
Give Me Your Anger
Let Me Be Your Rock
I Can Be The Pillar Of Strength That You Need
I'll Help You Keep It All Together
It's Better Late Than Never
Lay Your World On Me
I Can Take The Weight

We All Laugh And We All Cry
We All Hurt The Same Inside
We All Fall Down And We Lose Faith In Who We Really Are
But If We Bend Instead Of Break
The Choice For Us Is To Make It Together
Lay Your World On Me

I'll Help You Keep It All Together
It's Better Late Than Never
Lay Your World On Me
Lay Your World On Me
Lay Your World On Me
I Can Take The Weight

 Diary Of a Madman?

While I was writing my last post, it occurred to me how misunderstood Ozzy Osbourne really is. I have always been a fan of lyrics. Sometimes I didn't always know what they meant, but for me, I loved a song when there were lines in it that I could sing with feeling.

Ozzy always posted the lyrics on his albums, and I remember reading them. That was actually the first thing I did when I got home. Put the 3 cd's in the stereo and read the CD covers...

All except the plain and simple new Cd. I guess its cheaper not to put anything but a website address on them now. I had to go to the website to download the entire lyrics and credits...that's a new one!

Anyways, although Ozzy fights the demon of alcohol, you can walk through Ozzy's life with his lyrics.

Good Bye to Romance, was written for his old band members in Sabbath. I can't mention Ozzy without mentioning his great friend and truly great guitarist, Randy Rhodes. Randy actually rented a plane with his girlfriend on the tour of Diary of a Madman. He saw Ozzy's tour bus and decided they would have some fun and dive at the bus...when it got out of control...and they crashed and it went up in flames...Ozzy said, "At that moment I discovered what it meant to be in shock!"

Ozzy was also very good friends with Bon Scott of Ac/Dc and was with him shortly before he died. He said, Bon Scott was drunker than all of them that night (hard to believe coming from Ozzy.) Stating how the tragedy weighed on him.

One thing that always amazed me was how much support and love and very needed understanding that Sharon gives to Ozzy. She accepts him for who he is. She sees the person inside of Ozzy and accepts his faults and failures. That is true love to me.

After he left Sabbath and felt like he couldn't do it on his own, he began a 3 month binge of drugs and alcohol locking himself in a hotel room. Sharon came in one day and said, "Clean yourself up, get yourself in a moderate state of humanity and audition a new band!" That's acceptance, that’s understanding, and support. (THAT’S LOVE). After that, he auditioned Randy Rhodes!

Anyways, just wanted to give you a glimpse of Ozzy through my eyes. Here are some of his lyrics:

[I Don’t Know]
People look to me and say
Is the end near, when is the final day
What's the future of mankind
How do I know, I got left behind

Everyone goes through changes
Looking to find the truth
Don't look at me for answers
Don't ask me---I don't know

I told my girls if Ozzy wrote that song today, it would say:

Don't ask me--- I D K

[Goodbye to romance]
Yesterday has been and gone
Tomorrow will I find the sun or will it rain

[Crazy Train]
Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not too late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate

That's my favorite!

[Believer]
You've got to believe in yourself or no one will,
I believe in you
Imagination like a bird on the wing
Flying, free for you to use (ok baby)

 A walk through the river

I spent the day with my girls today! A long over due opportunity.
I was starting to feel like it didn't matter to me one way or the other, but after spending much needed time with them, IT DID matter to me!

We went to lunch and amazingly enough, we all had something to share with each other.

Being Sunday, it's 'my day' to pick what we do and listen to.

After lunch we stopped at a car wash, where my neice was raising money for her drama club play. She is Eve in an Adam and Eve story.
I proudly went there to support her efforts!

After that, we went to Best Buy because I have been wanting to purchase the long awaited newly released Ozzy Osbourne CD. Diary of a Madman was my first album ever. I wanted to purchase that one again as well as the new one which came out on July 1st.

Everyone got something of course. Older daughter, wanted the new Hannah Montanna CD, younger daughter got 2 computer games...Animal Hospital and Zoo something...no surprise there.

When I stopped to look for Diary of a Madman, I was completely engulfed in all the Ozzy Cd's. There was Blizzard of Oz (oooh forgot about that one), several re-mastered CD's with a compliation of songs and the new one, Black Rain. Oh my goodness, I just couldn't decide. While I was trying to decide, a girl came over to me and asked me if I would want to sign up for a credit card...hmm a credit card...then we wouldn't have to choose!!! So I did!!! Yeah, approved!

I asked my older daughter which one she would get because I wanted the songs on the 2 CD's or would she just get the compilation...she said, you had these 2 cd's when you were a kid...I said, no, I had these 2 ALBUMS...She said, well, then I'd get the CD's this time!

So I did, Blizzard of Oz and Diary of a Madman! Oh, and the new one too of course, Black Rain. Since it was my day, when we were checking out, I said....and you know what we're listening to when we get in the car don't you...

They both looked at me and said, "Ozzy"! LOL sounded funny to hear them say his name..

Afterwards we stopped by to see my Grandma and Granpa's grave. Then we went to the park. This particular park has a river all around it. My daughter wanted to go in the river walking in it...it is a very rocky river, but appeared to be shallow. I had heels on of course, but they were my 'camping' heels, I've worn these in the lake before. So we walked and walked and walked in the middle of the river, almost completely around to the other side of the park. Had to be almost 2 miles through the river bed. By this time, both girls were swimming in their clothes, but I didn't care, I had plastic for the seats.

My youngest didn't think I'd go with those shoes on, and she mentioned something again about being afraid...I said, do you really think I'm afraid after walking all that way in my heels through the river bed? I loved it as much as she did. I guess she just can't understand when we actually HAVE something in common. She always looks for us not to be alike. I told her, I may not feel like 'kicking my shoes off' and wading through the water, but I did enjoy it, we made it to the other side safely!

Now I must get a very needed pedicure....

 Lost and Found

My brother was using my car for his girlfriend when a brake line broke. I told him not to worry about it, as long as she was ok. I was going to get it fixed anyways.

He took it to get it fixed. I stopped and gave him my credit card to pay for the repairs. He took it to my dad's friend.

My dad called me the next day and asked me if I was missing a credit card. I said "No"? Questioning why he would ask me that. He said that my credit card was found at his friend's shop on the floor in the parking lot. I said "Oh really. I gave that to 'Daryl' to pay for the repairs, he must have dropped it. I asked my dad not to say anything, so I could have a little fun with 'Daryl'!!

So, I called 'Daryl', but he didn't answer his phone. Must have known I would want my card, but didn't have the gonads to pick up the phone and simply tell me the truth that he couldn't find the card....instead he avoided me....

I told my girls, always face the music up front. If Uncle Daryl would just call mommy, he could stop worrying about this, I can make it easier for him... But he didn't.

So I called the next day (today) and left him a message (still not answering his phone). I said, "Hey let me know where you are, I need my credit card and I'll come pick it up, thanks, bye". LOL to myself.

I left 3 messages like that, all very nice and matter of factly. Finally he calls me back...must have either received the gonads he needed or come up with a good story...let's find out:

"Hey DJV, I'm golfing with Rob out of town, your credit card is with [enter girlfriends name here]." Oh, I said, its with [enter girlfriends name here]! "Yeah, he said, it's not in my wallet, I think she has it." Oh she has it. "Yeah, she has it."

I said, "NO SHE DOESN'T HAVE IT, BECAUSE YOU DROPPED IT IN THE PARKING LOT AND DAD CALLED ME AND TOLD ME ITS AT THE CAR SHOP!" He paused....So you're tricking me!?! I said, YES, I'm tricking you, if you called me back yesterday, you could have let yourself off the hook! LOL LOL (Now I'm laughing)

He said, that's NOT COOL DJV...gotta go!

I kept laughing and laughing because I thought it was funny.

Then about 10 minutes later he text messaged me and said "That was not cool, don't do it again." HUH!! Don't do it again??? What did I DO? Oh, I'm sorry, that's right, I was irresponsible, lost my card and was afraid to say anything to ME about it. Yeah that's right, how horrible of ME to do that to ME!

I keep thinking about it though, and maybe Daryl is in no mood to take a joke (bad golf game I'm assuming), but I certainly was in a mood to make one!!

I still think it's funny~~~~

 Polaris

Twinkle twinkle little star
How I wonder where you are

I searched for you today
Everywhere I looked
I thought I saw you
I called for you
No one answered

I drove to the sunset
A pink sky tonight
Waiting on the balcony

The moon was gone
It changes it position
The sun had set
All that was left
Was me and the north star

We never change our position
We are always in the same place
Every night
Waiting

Me and Polaris
An endless night sky

North

star

Me
